ETIQUETTE IN HEALTH CARE: Working with Latino Patients
This seminar will introduce the health professionals to the concept of cultural etiquette and protocol, and how to use those skills when working with Latino patients.
This seminar will increase the health professionals cultural competence skills so that the gap that exists in terms of lack of cultural understanding of Latino patients is minimized. Once the client feels better understood the worker-client relationship becomes stronger, more productive and the outcome of treatment more effective.
Cultural and social models will be analyzed. The seminar involves role playing and practice. Student's participation is expected. The seminar last 2 hours. At the end of the seminar a certificate will be awarded to the participants.
